Q: I have an old watch that hasn't worked for years. Can I send it to you to see if it's even repairable?
A: Yes, and be sure to enclose a check for the $25 estimate fee, payable to CUSTOM WATCH WORKS, to cover costs, return shipping & insurance. We will provide you with an estimate via e-mail for your approval the next business day after we receive the watch.
Q: What types of services do you offer?
A: We offer all services your dive watch might have need of including cell (battery) replacement, crystal replacement, crown repair/replacement, strap & bracelet repairs, case refinishing, movement overhaul/replacement, bezel repair/replacement, seal replacement and anything else your watch might need.
Q: How long will repairs or servicing take?
A: Of course, it depends on circumstances. Typically, routine major servicing for a dive watch takes 3 business days in-house, plus shipping time. Repairs or other services can vary and you will be advised accordingly in the estimate.
Q: What sort of warranty do you offer?
A: We guaranty all workmanship and materials for a period of one year from service date. WE DO NOT GUARANTY FUTURE WATERRESISTANCE as we have no control over the manner in which the watch is used or conditions to which it might be subjected. We DO pressure test, wet or dry as appropriate, consistent with accepted industry practices, and certify that on the service date, qualified watches passed/failed testing at that time.
Q: My watch is flooded - is it still repairable at a reasonable cost?
A: Yes, it's probably repairable. You have to consider repair vs replacement cost relative to sentimental value. We do the estimate ... you make the choice.
Q: Do you customize watches?
A: We can do just about anything that's within obvious practical limitations. We can install sapphire crystals (greater scratch resistance) on most watches. We can have a dial customized, including birthstones, diamonds, etc. We can change hands, straps, bracelets, have case-backs engraved, modify bezels, machine cases ... tell us what you want and we'll do our best for you!
